Women in Construction Week 2025

In celebration of Women in Construction Week, we recently visited Greystones Community College, to speak with their students about the impact that women have on the construction industry, and the career opportunities that exist.

A range of female colleagues spoke about their roles, highlighting how integral it is to see female role models across all aspects of construction. Our goal was to encourage the female students to consider career paths which may not have previously been advertised to them or that they might not have an awareness of.

Our team spoke about their roles in Preconstruction and Design, Estimating, Business Development, HR, Project Administration and Executive Coordination, and the different access routes to entry, for each.

These Transition Year students will shortly be selecting their Leaving Certificate subjects, which may impact the 3rd level education and career opportunities available to them. In line with the IWD’s campaign to #AccelerateAction, equipping female students with the knowledge they need to make informed choices and set themselves up for success, is vital.

Many thanks to the KWETB and the brilliant students, for having us!
