Sustainability

At Crown, one of our core values is to Do The Right Thing. We stand up for what is right, not what is easy. How we work, with clients, suppliers, partners and communities across the globe is as important as the outcomes we deliver.

We do not compromise on quality, working with integrity, mindful of our impact on the environment and the communities around us.

Environmental

At Crown, we provide sustainable, full envelope solutions to the industries and infrastructure of the modern world. While working across Europe and contributing to this progress, we understand we have a tangible impact on the environment around us. In order to reduce this impact, we actively implement energy-efficient designs, use renewable energy sources and sustainable materials, and minimize waste.

Recognising how resource and energy intensive the construction industry inherently is, we aim to ensure that any potential adverse environmental impacts of our actions are minimised and opportunities for delivering environmental improvements are maximised.

In 2024, Crown completed our first Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions assessment. Using the results as a benchmark, we are in the process of assigning targets and implementing methodologies to reduce our carbon emissions and environmental impact. We intend to publish these targets in due course.

Social

Crown is proud to have a diverse and inclusive workforce, and recognizes that everyone deserves the resources and opportunities needed to succeed. We support the growth and development of all team members through the provision of training and further education opportunities, mental health supports and physical health outlets, and appropriate guidance from management.

We support community initiatives, such as our charity partner Five Loaves in our local County Wicklow, and fundraising activities in the overseas territories where we work.

Recently, on a hyperscale project in Sweden, where our team were working away from home for an extended period, we set up a Football League, for our own staff and all of our site colleagues. As mental and physical health are intrinsically linked, we are happy to support initiatives that bring the team together for a healthy activity.

We recognize the importance of protecting the mental health of our team, and provide support and resources through our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Spectrum Life, and through our partnership with Lighthouse, The Construction Industry Charity. Through these programmes, our teams and their families can access 24/7, free, confidential counselling and support on a variety of topics, be they emotional, physical or financial.

One of our key priorities is to support those with an interest in and passion for pursuing a career in construction. We recently partnered with iWish, and are supporting them in their mission to showcase the power of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and inspire women to pursue careers in these sectors.

Governance

One of our core values is to Do The Right Thing. In all aspects of our work, we strive to put clarity, honesty and integrity above all else. This underpins all of our work, including in how our company acts and is run.

Our Senior Management Team, alongside our Board and our internal HR and Compliance Teams, ensure that we are honourable in the way we conduct ourselves, how we interact with our clients and suppliers and how we treat our staff. We act with transparency and accountability, without compromising on the truth.

We are highly accredited, demonstrating our commitment to always upholding the highest standards, across all aspects of our work.
