Doing the Right Thing, the Right Way.

Sustainability at Crown

At Crown, sustainability is embedded in how we operate and the decisions we make every day. We take responsibility for our environmental and social impact and hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity, quality, and accountability. Through our ESG commitments and 5-Year Sustainability Strategy, we are focused on delivering resilient, responsible solutions that create lasting value for our clients, our people, and the communities we serve.

Delivering Sustainable Solutions

Working across Ireland, the UK and Europe, we partner with clients, consultants and supply chain specialists to deliver projects that are efficient, responsible and built to perform over the long term.

“Crown’s Board and Senior Management Team are fully committed to responsible and sustainable growth. Sustainability is embedded within our governance framework, risk management processes and strategic decision-making across the organisation and throughout the projects we deliver.

As a business operating within the construction industry, we recognise our responsibility to minimise environmental impact, maintain the highest standards of health and safety, and support the wellbeing and development of our people. Through strong oversight, clear accountability and continuous improvement, we aim to deliver safe, sustainable and high-quality infrastructure while creating long-term value for our clients, our people and the communities in which we operate.”

Emma O’Gorman Wall, COO/Director at Crown

Environmental

We recognise that construction is resource and energy intensive. Our responsibility is to minimise impact and maximise improvement opportunities.

Crown has completed comprehensive carbon assessments for 2022, 2023, and 2024. These assessments establish a baseline to guide emissions reduction and inform future commitments.

We are committed to transparency, continuous improvement, and responsible environmental management, supported by our ISO 14001 certification.

Social

Our people are central to our success. We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace where everyone can thrive.

“Creating a workplace where people feel supported, valued, and able to develop their potential is at the heart of what we do at Crown.”

Simona Quinlan, HR Manager

We invest in:

  • Training and career development
  • Mental and physical wellbeing programmes
  • Employee Assistance support (24/7 confidential counselling)
  • Future Leaders Programme (fully funded third-level education)

In 2025, we published our first Gender Pay Gap Report, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and equality. We are also proud to support Women in Construction Ireland, helping to promote greater diversity, inclusion, and opportunities for women across the construction industry.

Beyond our business, we actively support charities and community initiatives across Ireland, the UK, and the overseas territories in which we operate.

Governance

Strong governance is central to how we operate at Crown. Our framework, led by the Board and Senior Management Team, ensures clear accountability, effective oversight, and full compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions in which we operate.

We maintain a robust suite of policies, including our Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy, Whistleblowing Policy, and Data Protection standards – which guide ethical decision-making and promote integrity throughout our organisation and supply chain.

Governance at Crown is not only about compliance, it is about responsible leadership. We embed risk management, ethical standards, and sustainability considerations into our decision-making processes, ensuring that our business is managed with transparency, discipline, and long-term accountability

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Through measurable action and transparent reporting, we aim to contribute meaningfully to these global objectives.

“Sustainability sits at the core of Crown’s long-term success. By embedding robust health, safety and environmental practices throughout our projects and operations, we are committed to supporting responsible construction and delivering safe, high-quality infrastructure across every project we undertake.”
