Crown is proud to announce its support for Fergus Farrell as he prepares to take on one of the most extraordinary endurance challenges of its kind: a 4,500 kilometre walk across the United States from Brooklyn, New York to Santa Monica, California, beginning on 22 August 2026.
Over the course of 75 consecutive days, Fergus will average approximately 63 kilometres every day, the equivalent of a marathon and a half, in a feat that is set to make history. Fergus is expected to become the first person with a spinal cord injury to complete such a journey, and the first Irishman in more than a century to walk coast-to-coast across America.
But this challenge is about far more than distance.
It is about the unstoppable power of the human spirit.
In 2018, Fergus’s life changed forever after a devastating workplace accident left him paralysed from the waist down. He was given just a 5% chance of ever walking again. Yet through relentless determination, emotional honesty, and an unwavering refusal to accept limitation, Fergus defied every expectation. Within a year, he walked out of the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dublin and went on to walk across Ireland.
Now, he is preparing to inspire the world once again.
His coast-to-coast walk across America is a living testament to what can be achieved through resilience, belief, and the courage to keep moving forward no matter the obstacles in your path.

The challenge will also raise vital awareness and support for Spinal Injuries Ireland, the national charity dedicated to helping people living with spinal cord injuries to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Funds raised through the campaign will help sustain essential services including peer support, counselling and advocacy.
From the streets of New York to the Pacific coast of California, Fergus Farrell’s journey promises to capture hearts and imaginations across the globe.
His message is simple but profound: resilience is not about pretending to be strong. It is about being real, asking for help, and continuing forward one step at a time.
