Addressing the risks associated with our trades and proactively mitigating these risks, through training and the provision of safety equipment, is a critical aspect of our health and safety practice.
On a mission critical site in Sweden, our H&S team recently delivered training on Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) and the long-term damage it can cause, such as Vibration White Finger. Practical examples of the various tools that are used on site were shared, trigger times for each were calculated, and associated control measures were discussed.
Conditions such as Vibration White Finger are preventable, but are permanent once developed. Effective risk mitigation is key.
