Through our extensive experience completing data centres in the Nordics, we have honed our expertise in delivering challenging projects in cold and harsh climates. For the 40 Crown staff on this hyperscale project, Health & Safety was a key focus.
Given manpower requirements, the Crown team on this project consisted of both direct staff and subcontractors. We expect and require all of our teams to uphold the same standards of H&S, and regularly conduct audits to ensure all maintain best practice. Additionally, where our package overlaps with that of other project subcontractors, we regularly engage with these industry colleagues to ensure all parties can continue to work safely and uphold best practice in H&S. For example, on this project, our proactive and continued collaboration with the steel and internal fitout contractors was key to maintaining the highest levels of H&S, whilst ensuring all parties could meet their programme obligations.
We were grateful to be consistently recognised by Sisk, for our commitment to health and safety, winning Subcontractor of the Month Award on two occasions. Additionally, we were commended on the quality of our SOR submissions, being awarded SOR Star of the Month three times, as well as receiving a Safety Excellence award.
In November 2024, Crown was awarded the Health and Safety Award, at Sisk’s annual Supply Chain Awards, for our work on this data centre project.
We are highly committed to employee and stakeholder health and wellbeing, and continuously seek ways to improve the wellbeing of all. As physical health and mental health are intrinsically linked, we were delighted to be involved in the development of the Malmo Football Tournament, alongside Sisk, which saw members of Team Crown, Sisk, our subcontractors, and other site colleagues from this project, engage in some healthy competition! When many of the project team are away from home, and their friends and families, it is vital to have outlets that allow for the development of friendships outside of site, building even better site relations.
