This month, the Irish construction industry is shining a light on the critical topics of mental health and stress awareness.
The Construction Industry Federation (CIF)’s focus theme for April is Mental Health, as a result of the recognition that “mental wellbeing, psychosocial risks and work-related stress are among the most challenging occupational safety and health concerns within the construction industry”. The CIF also note that these concerns and challenges are often underreported, and the industry is facing an even larger mental health crisis than currently understood.
We are proud to partner with The Lighthouse Charity to provide free, 24/7 emotional, physical and financial wellbeing services and support to those who may be struggling. We recently hosted representatives from Lighthouse on one of our life sciences projects in Dublin, who spoke to the team about men’s mental health, the services available and how they can reach out for help, beginning the conversation and making clear the message that it is ok not to be ok.
