What is it like working at Crown?

We asked some of our colleagues about their experience working at Crown, about how they progressed into their current role and about how education has played a part in their success.

Carl McNab, BIM Lead – “Following a successful nine-month internship with Crown during the third year of my Architectural Technology degree at TU Dublin, I was delighted to return to the company upon graduation. Crown gave me the opportunity to prove myself and develop into a young professional, by trusting and valuing my contribution, and leading me to become hungry to further my career.

Since joining Crown, the level of support has been amazing, and they have given me the tools to advance my career. I joined Crown as a BIM Technician two years ago and have since progressed to become the BIM Lead. The core ethos of Crown is to support and develop their employees, which I have experienced first-hand. Crown have instilled a level of confidence in me that I didn’t know I had. I look forward to the future with Crown and to continue growing with the company.”

Kim Jordan, Design Director – “I joined Crown as an Architectural Technologist from DIT, Bolton Street, almost 7 years ago and have since progressed to become the Technical Design Director.

I was supported by Crown to advance in my career by pursuing further education. I continued my studies while working with Crown, receiving a Higher National Diploma in Project Management, and a BSc in BIM from Technological University Dublin. Crown has given me the opportunity to develop both personally and professionally, for which I am incredibly grateful.”

Rares Socaciu, Contracts Manager – “I have worked for Crown Roofing and Cladding since 2011, starting as a roofing operative and progressing to become a Site Foreman, then a Project Manager and most recently to my current role as Contracts Manager High Density Residential and Commercial Division.

Crown supported my goal of pursuing further education, and I obtained a Diploma in Project Management and a BSc in Construction Management from Atlantic Technological University, Sligo. Crown has offered me mentorship and support whenever I’ve asked for it. I am grateful to be a part of this great company.”

Ala Alipour, Design Intern – “One of the most valuable aspects of my internship was the opportunity to learn from experts in various fields. This exposure helped me gain industry knowledge and expertise that I could not have received in a traditional classroom setting. I was encouraged to interact, engage and ask questions, which helped me navigate the various tasks and responsibilities assigned to me. As a result, I never felt lost or unsupported during my time at Crown.

The experience allowed me to gain new insights and perspectives, and I was able to apply this newfound knowledge during my final year of study. The exposure and practical experience I gained at Crown have proven to be invaluable in my academic and professional pursuits”.
