In celebration of IWD2024, we asked some of our women colleagues, about their experience in the construction sector and why more women should become involved in the industry.

“The construction industry is one of the most heavily male-dominated industries in Europe. I feel that more could be done in educating and attracting girls to construction-related activities and courses. There are so many different aspects to construction encompassing design, project management, quantity surveying, and other professional roles. Research indicates that diversity in the workforce, including between women and men, produces greater innovation and creativity. From my own experience, Crown Roofing and Cladding are very supportive in creating career paths and providing educational opportunities.”
“My experience of working in the construction industry has been a very positive one. I work hard and am respected and rewarded for it. Having only entered the industry in recent years, however, I appreciate that the experiences of those women who came before me may not have been quite as positive. There is a way to go, but I see the industry moving in the right direction.”
